Life in ghettos was brutal. 30% of the city population was forced to live in 2.4% of the city's area, a density of 7.2 people per room. In the ghetto of , 700 people lived in it. The Jews were not allowed out of the ghetto, so they had to rely on smuggling and the starvation rations supplied by the Nazis: With crowded living conditions, starvation, and diseases Jews would die out on the streets.
TYPES
There were differant types of ghettos first being closed ghettos which were surrounded by brick walls fences and barb wire Jews were not allowed to leave or else they will be killed and were also extremely crowded and living conditions were much harder than the other type of ghetto which were open ghettos open ghettos did not have walls or fences but you cant leave or enter.
